Prayer Shawl

On Sunday, October 21, 2018, we had a blessing of the Prayer Shawls made since last year.  The children from the congregation presented the Prayer Shawls to be blessed and shawls were available at the end of the service for anyone who needed a shawl or knew of someone who would be comforted by one of these shawls.

The prayer shawls are made by members of the congregation and are regularly given to members and friends who are going through a stressful time in their life.  During the prayers of the church we will ask for God’s blessing both for those who have handcrafted the shawls and for the yet unknown recipients of them.  Through the years this ministry of the congregation has comforted many individuals and reinforced God’s message of hope.

Since the inception of St. Paul’s Prayer Shawl Ministry in March 2007, 110 prayer shawls have been presented to our members, as well as relatives, friends and neighbors of our church family who are in need.  Every year in October we Bless the Prayer Shawls made during the year.

If you know someone who would benefit from receiving a shawl, or you want to be part of the knitting group and can knit or crochet a shawl (simple instructions are provided) or would like to learn more about the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please see Kristine Gross or call the church office and leave a message for her to contact you.
