Ring out the News!
Handbell choir has rehearsals on Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the music room.
Handbell choir is in full swing! Students in 7th grade through adults are welcome to join the handbell choir. Previous music experience is beneficial, but not necessary for success. We typically play for services once a month and on major feast days. We also add handbells to psalms, hymns, and other parts of the liturgy. Please consider ringing with us. The Handbell Choir consists of members ages 12 and up.
The Handbell Choir was pleased to play for the 10:30 liturgy on October 15. Our selection, “For the Beauty of the Earth” complemented the stewardship theme “From Bread and Wine to Bountiful Giving.” I am very grateful for the time and talent our bell choir members share to add beautiful music to our liturgies. During the month of November, the Bell Choir will play on November 5 and will collaborate with the children’s choir and adult vocal choir to render the psalm on November 19. We will also be busy working on some special music for the Christmas season.
The Handbell choir continues to be an important ministry and represents the vibrant and energized faith community at St. Paul’s. We currently have members ringing our full five octaves of handbells and four octaves of handchimes. Members enjoy utilizing many different bell techniques and playing pieces which incorporate various instruments.
If you can keep a steady beat; and have any prior musical experience (even it was long ago), please consider giving bell choir a try.
