Social Ministry

SOCIAL MINISTRIES

The Social Ministry Committee, as per the bylaws of our constitution, “shall oversee the congregation’s ministry of service to all persons of all ages who are victims of illness, injustice, poverty, or any form of suffering in body, mind and/or spirit.”

St. Paul’s has a wide variety of services they provide to the community and to the world to teach the World that God is Love.

We have members involved with the Food Pantry, Bridge of Hope, St. Paul’s Preschool, Prayer Shawls and Tutoring.  We also support the Lutheran World Relief organization.  Our Social Ministry Committee is working with Jackson Elementary School and SMITH S.T.E.A.M. Academy and their needs.

SOCIAL MINISTRIES & SMITH S.T.E.A.M. ACADEMY

On June 2nd, St. Paul’s Social Ministry team members delivered 36 pairs of uniform pants to Smith Academy. Boys and girls of various sizes, who otherwise may not have the appropriate uniform, will benefit when “Back to School” night rolls around in August. This outreach was in collaboration with the social worker formerly at Jackson Elementary School. It is a blessing for St. Paul’s as well as these two schools that we can serve York children in a variety of ways
