Cantabile Bell choir

Cantabile Bell Choir – Get ready for another amazing year of children and bells!

New for this year we will be trying some pieces for handbells and Orff instruments.  We currently have openings for new students, grades 2-6, in this choir.  Students as young as 1st grade if the parents feel they can handle a 45 minute rehearsal.  No prior music experience is necessary.

Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:15 in the church nave.  Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

The children’s Cantabile bell choir is hard at work preparing music for our entertainment.  The children in the Cantabile Bell choir did a fantastic job playing and singing Ezekiel Saw the Wheel on October 16.  The piece featured the children playing xylophones and glockenspiel to accompany themselves while singing.  Playing and singing at the same time requires a great deal of independent musicianship.  Their next performance date will be Sunday, December 11, when they will play the advent anthem Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.  We are still in need of a few more children to play with us, and hope you can fit it into your busy family schedules.
